Methodology

How Estimates Work

Each subject uses a weighted composite percentage and estimated threshold bands. The output is a practice planning estimate, not an official College Board score conversion.

Formula

MCQ percent is multiplied by the subject MCQ weight. FRQ percent uses the remaining weight. The result is rounded to a composite percentage before the threshold band is applied.

Official Scores

College Board score setting and equating can change real cut scores by exam form and year. Treat the calculator as practice guidance only. College Board says 2026 AP scores have been available since July 6.

Source Notes

Exam dates, modes, question counts, section weights, score release timing, and distribution availability are checked against College Board pages. Thresholds remain practice estimates, not official College Board cut scores. Real cut scores can vary by form and year after score setting and equating.
